Garden Lane Suite Handmade Card Collection

I am thrilled to be part of our first West Coast Creators team blog hop!  This month’s theme is “Last-Chance Products” or retiring products from Stampin’ Up’s Annual Catalogue.  I have chosen to showcase the Garden Lane Suite.   It features a beautiful stamp set and paper, that reminds me of garden weddings and summertime greens.  It also co-ordinates with the beautiful Magnolia Lane set, which is carrying over to the next catalogue!

The first card uses the Garden Lane Designer Series Paper as a backdrop and features the a white 3D flower, made using the Magnolia dies and Hot Air Balloon punch.  The sentiment is heat embossed in Gold for a classy touch of bling!

The 2nd card uses the same DSP collection and I’ve chosen a geometric pattern for this design.  The flowers, vines and sentiments were stamped and then cut by hand.  This one had a lot of fussy cutting and I soon realized that it can be quite soothing to do!  Final touches include a double wrapped Mossy Meadow twine and frosted flower embellishments.

The 3rd card features a fun fold design, taught by one of our WCC team members Debbie Freeman.  What a great way to use DSP and to showcase their variety!  I am a sucker for fun folds and I definitely had fun making this one.  The flower and sentiment is from the Magnolia Lane set.  What a simple way to top of this fun card!  Imagine your recipient’s delight, when opening this unique card!

The 4th card is made with a wedding in mind.  Its design brings me back to memories of summer garden weddings with elegant white and gold decorations.  The DSP has been cut out, using the “swirl” from the Magnolia Memories dies.  Vellum is similarly cut and placed on top of the DSP, creating a softening effect.  The sentiment is heat embossed in gold and the flower is cut using the Magnolia dies and gold foil, embossed with the Subtle folder.  Finally, a piece of Old Olive shimmer ribbon, from the Early Release set, is used to create more interest, behind the sentiment.  I know you’re not supposed to have favourites, but I had to admit, this one is very close for me!

Last but not least, this simply designed but highly layered card.  Not only does it showcase the DSP again, but I stamped the vines multiple times on Whisper White, to create it’s own patterned paper too.  I think the Crumb Cake card base gives this set an eco-friendly garden style!
