Hello! Today, I am sharing a project made for a TGIF Challenges with one of my favourite card making techniques….watercolouring! I just love playing with ink colours in water, as there are so many looks that can be achieved. The neat thing is that each look turns out uniquely different and no card looks the same. It completely depends on how the water and the ink come together on paper, each and every time.
I have chosen to showcase the Honey Bee stamp set and dies from Stampin’ Up’s mini spring catalogue. One of my favourites! I am a sucker for anything related to honey and bees! Something to do with my childhood love for Winnie the Pooh, I think!?
So, lets get started…. here is the challenge:
Drum roll for the result please…
The background was made, with some help by my 8 year old daughter! She loved doing all the smooshing, painting and splattering, using Crushed Curry and Whisper White inks mixed with water. She did a fantastic job, didn’t she? Sometimes children are the best at watercolouring because of the fun and open creativity, that comes natural to them!
The sentiment stamped was stamped and heat embossed on Basic Black. The bees and honeycomb were stamped and cut from the stamps and matching dies. Finally, I added a natural twine bow, to complete the look.
UPDATE: I’m super excited to announce that this card was chosen as one of the Challenge winners. I’m so humbled to be chosen by such a talented group of artists. Thank you so much TGIFC! Please check out the winning announcement here.
